Terms of service

Loca is operated by Chara Networks, trading as Loca.. These terms apply when you browse, create an account, place an order, apply as a farmer or use another Loca service. By continuing with an account or order, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Notice.

You must be at least 18 years old, or use the service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian who accepts these terms.

Loca uses passwordless email or phone verification. Keep access to your email, phone and one-time codes secure. You are responsible for activity performed through your authenticated account unless you report unauthorised access promptly.

Farmer and staff access requires approval or provisioning and does not arise merely because someone verifies a phone number. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse or a security incident.

Produce is organised by state and may naturally vary in appearance, size and season. Product descriptions, quantities, availability, delivery fees and the total price are shown before payment. Prices are displayed in Nigerian naira and may change before an order is submitted.

A cart contains products from one state at a time because fulfilment and delivery are routed through that state's supply network. We may correct an obvious listing error before accepting an order and will not substitute an unavailable item without communicating the available remedy.

An order is submitted when you confirm checkout. Payment is processed by Paystack, whose secure page may offer card, transfer or other available methods. Loca receives payment status and transaction references but not your full card or bank credentials.

An order remains awaiting payment until the payment provider confirms it. If payment succeeds but the confirmation is delayed, do not pay twice; check the order page or contact support with the order reference.

Available delivery areas, fees and estimated windows are shown during checkout. Estimates are not guarantees: weather, traffic, supply conditions and events outside reasonable control may cause delay. We will use the delivery address and contact number confirmed at checkout, so they must be accurate and reachable.

Contact us as soon as possible if you need to cancel. We will honour applicable cancellation rights, but an order already dispatched or containing prepared perishable goods may involve reasonable restrictions or costs where the law permits them.

Inspect fresh produce promptly and report a missing, damaged, unsafe or materially misdescribed item with the order code and useful evidence. Where goods or services do not meet applicable standards, available remedies may include replacement, correction or refund. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot legally be excluded under Nigerian consumer protection law.

Do not misuse the service, impersonate another person, submit fraudulent payment or identity information, scrape protected data, interfere with security controls, upload unlawful content or use Loca to harm another person. We may remove content or restrict access when reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.

We work to keep Loca accurate and available, but maintenance, networks and third-party services can interrupt access. To the extent permitted by law, neither party is responsible for indirect losses that were not reasonably foreseeable. This does not limit liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, personal injury caused by negligence, or any consumer right that the law does not allow us to limit.

We may update these terms when the service or law changes. Material changes apply from the published effective date and will not retrospectively remove rights attached to an existing paid order.

Nigerian law governs these terms. Please contact us first so we can resolve a concern fairly; this does not prevent either party from using a regulator, court or other remedy available under applicable law.
